The literate, compassionate songs of Jack Harris have earned acclaim in songwriting circles throughout his career. A South by Southwest Festival, a showcasing artist at 17, he was also the first international act to win the New Folk songwriting competition at The Kerrville Folk Festival, Texas where previous winners include Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Gillian Welch and Devon Sproule.
He has gigged frequently in the UK, USA and Europe, both as a support act and headline performer, including several appearances at The Green Man Festival, and opening for some of folk music’s biggest names, including Dick Gaughan, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, as well as contemporary songwriters like Anais Mitchell and Jeffrey Foucault.
Jack’s live show is a riveting mix of song-craft and story-telling, adorned by intricate fingerstyle guitar and smoky, soulful vocals. Drawing from the narrative traditions of folk and blues music, Jack brings both into the here and now; a “born poet”, whose songs are steeped in myth and mystery.
